It was those nuns and a Garda who started the religious thing about Matt Talbot.

I could go on with a long story about Matt Talbot. But I think I'll leave it for another day. I'll just say for now that Matt Talbot was a nutcase.... a blackleg who refused to take payment for overtime, meaning he was always picked for it to the loss of his workmates who hated him because he was ultimately depriving their families.

hiya Rashers, (this might be the 2nd reply as i hit submit reply and seem to have lost it) I'm really surprised to hear about Matt Talbot as I always thought he was a true Trade Unionist. He must have been dispised by his workmates. There is truth in the saying "get the name of being an early riser and you can sleep all day"Thanks for enlightening me.

The priest that married me told me more about Matt Talbot too. This was a priest in the Our Lady of Lourdes parish too. He asked why if MT was such a saintly man did he pass a certain door on his way downstairs to bring his envelope of money to the priests. You see behind that door was a woman nursing her husband who was very ill and couldn't work to feed his young family.... that woman was Matt Talbot's own sister.
