The first big night club I remember was Zhavagos and the last one I actually had a hand in ...The Ace of Clubs under the GAA HQ, I ran the restaurant. In between was Charly Murphy's "Good Time Charlies" on O'Connell St.
Now my memory fails me, there was one on Dame St. (off the Green ) just down from the Blood Bank that advertised it's opening but did not actually open for another week. Everyone who called during that first week were turned away after been told they were "full". I don't think they had to advertise for years after that scoop.
I spent most of my earlier Sat. nights at the Clontarf Cricket Club. There were a few dancehalls over on the Southside that I can't remember the names of now. Oh yes I forgot, I ran one down by the docks for Cathal Bruagha St College of Catering but I forget it's name also ... I think I only ran about six dances there but we made a heap of money for the Students Union,
