The route was as follows, Ventry end of Carnlough road, Cabra Road, Saint Peters church, North Circular Road, Mater hospital and Mountjoy prison, Leo street, Synnott Place, Dorset Street, Gardiner street,Marlborough street school entrance at Deverell Place, Talbot street, Custom House, North wall quay.

arnt Dubs the best? when I was over in Jan last, Mary lou (mlmsc) gave a few of us a lift home from the pub, bless her she was on soft drinks all night.
she really went out of her way........I will never forget the Dublin hospitality, and the lovely people I met.

I think we from cabra west have judging from the fourms become very computer literate....and i wonder if it had something to do with the toxic chemicals from bathing in the "Baths" with the tin basins, cans. and general garbage hehehehe...

thats probably where I learnt my computer skills then, I lodged in the Navan Road a few times on my trips back home

..and i remember liz being told by a potential employer when i sent in my resume (CV) and during the interview never to put my address as west cabra....but to write it as Rathoath road, off Nephin road, dublin 7.....as he said ...it looked "better" can you believe that....and whats even worse it worked....cos i did try it............god knows how many jobs i lost by acknowledging i came from the "West" total and utter discrimination...i hope its gone now..

I think the reason was our parents...they instilled in us a "you can do it" attitude which carried us through supreme in the knowledge we were the best!!!!

awww thank god dolores fricking 2009 is gone done with.....and it ended on a bad note too...one good friend of ours went to the dr with a cold...and discovered she has serious heart problems.....another got the h1n1 vaccine christmas week to fly to Nova Scotia for the christmas with her family, and shes been in hospital up there since with Gullian-barre disease..theyve no idea when she'll be ok to be released...

thank god for the new year lol.....hugs and love to you and chris..

your photo's on Cabra are the best, my brother Leo married 'Josie Larney ' 43 Bannow Road , Now passed on . Your pictures do Cabra West credit. Our members around the world will be delighted with them, well done.
The Next time i visit My kids in Dublin , which will be soon i hope , I will take pictures of all Whitehall and Larkhill and post them . Maybe all dublin forum members would do the same as you did , and give us all fond memories of our roots. Way to go bang bang thanks a lot.
