Lemass's / Whittakers programmes such as using the Bogs to their potential.
                There. Historical enough for you?

sorry, yes that is part of the history of the long journey........look around as you walk, do you see what your grandfather saw....did he have the same thoughts as you have.....did he feel a sense of freedom, and do you.......

will your's be a happier journey than his.......hurry up and get to work, your county needs you...................................

                        shinners on the march again
                        the midlands are awake
will his thoughts affect the nation
                        in his fifteen minute break

                        briskly goes his journey
as the country holds its breath
i hope, he's brought his umbrella
or as usual, did he forget

from free state, to celtic tiger
                        has shinners done his part
or was he just too busy
                        eating, his apricot jam tart

                          Im back from my preambulation.
                          Im feelin kind of weak.
I wasnt going to log on
But I said Id have a peek.

                          My grandad never ventured
                          Outside of his country home.
                          To go to Limerick city
                          Was like venturing to Rome.

He played his part in building
                          The Ireland we now know.
As a worker on the council
With not a lot to show.

                          My fifteen minute ramble
                          Through a city industrial park
Shows the trouble we are in now
                          Lights out, most buildings dark.

But the air was clear and healthy
And as I stroll back to my post.
                          To a brighter better Ireland
With bottled water I will toast.
