    Ireland, Prison Registers, 1790-1924.

I found this link on another Forum. I am putting it on here so that it might be of help to other members researching the Ancestors...

Discover your family history. Explore the world’s largest collection of free family trees, genealogy records and resources.

Where it says " Refine your Search" on the left of the screen enter what ever name you wish to find and see what turns up. Also the name of the County you think the person was living in.

I found a great uncle of mine was sentenced in 1921 to the Mountjoy, and his CRIME was " Being out Of Doors During Curfew Without permission"

Thanks for that link mickjoe, I just found my g/dad was in Mountjoy in 1918
for selling butter at a price which.....and it ends there... image not available
I have a feeling there is more to it than that, going by the date of arrest.
wish I knew this when I was at home I would have had a better look.
    Thanks again.

me too.....most of the offences seem to consist of drunkeness, assault,
profane language, robbing and malicious damage...one of the women was
done for "allowing her child to sell onions in the street between 11 and 12 pm".

Does anyone know where I could contact to see the records of my G/Father..
                      like BMD record office.
It says image not available, when you search the records.
I would love to know more about him.
