  • mystic ink eradicator....

    does anybody remember mystic ink eradicator.....it was sold by stationers in ireland (and some in the uk) to eradicate mistakes and plots caused by using liquid ink in the days when open nibs were commonly used.....

    i believe it was invented by a mr s j biggar.....in rathmines road.....the premises were a barn like building, and later became the premise of ASHLEY electrical products......a well know brand of plugs, switches etc, used in ireland.....

                        yes, a cheaper alternative...which also bleached the paper....

                        mystic did not do that.......it only removed the ink.....

                          I just took the walloping for blotting my copybook.

                          But I remember other kids using a bit of bread as an ink eraser. Never worked for me.

                            Yea I remember using the bread.....but only for rubbing out pencil marks......it didnt work for me either......Im sure Leemo will remember that magic stuff.....he's about old enough!!!!

                              mystic, i believe because of its cost..would only be used on important items' such as company ledgers etc.....
                              but it was available in retailers.......
