me again????sound

my desk top has lost sound its says ,,ethernet controller,, and multimedia audio controller not installed ,is there somewhere i can download something other than going to windows updates to get sound back

i am one of the early whitehallians we are all thicks i blame mitching from school.

my computer is a HP so i entered my model and found audio driver .. also all drivers for my computer if i wanted them ,handy to know for the future
