No.. about 20% or less...

We clogged up the courts here and the Poll Tax was ditched - uncollectable. People argued every tiny detail - eg incorrect names on bills, a Mrs instead of a Miss and these cases were either adjourned of thrown out

We have the old 'rating' system back and I have no objection to paying for services. We also have water charges (Maggie sold off everything) but we have no bin tax or other taxes etc

we have property taxes which i have to say i dont mind paying...cos i know what im getting for the money

They are based on the value of the home and the area, and cover
Schools and education
garbage pickup,
street lighting
police
tree maintenance and road maintenance
recreational facilities,
snow ploughing and removal
and im sure a slew of other things i just take for granted..

as i said...its money well spent for me..

I heard they have run out of ideas for Taxes in Ireland,,,,,but,,one they are thinkin' about is a "Filtering Air Rectum Tax",where by everyone will be required to have a filter connected to their Rectums,to reduce the amount of unwanted Carbon. to be known as "F.A.R.T.". every one will be compelled to register their Bums,when it is introduced in the next Budget.
