  • From George Harrison to Nick Cotton

I watched a film on tv Thursday night called The Birth Of The Beatles, 1979. Lo and behold who popped up as George Harrison ? only Nick Cotton [John Altman] from Eastenders. Nigel Havers who did a spell in Corrie was in it too. The film dealth with the groups early days and covered the death of Stuart Suthcliffe and the dumping of drummer Pete Best in favour of Ringo Starr. Nasty Nick is now doing a bit of drumming himself in Walford, drumming up trouble.

You do see that the odd time, soap actors before they sold out for a steady pay check and now are too type casted popping up in decent roles in movies in their early days.

Charlie from Casualty in "The Long Good Friday"
Alf Roberts from Corrie in Get Carter
