  • God!!! another one of Quinner's stories.....

    Spina Bifida....

A girl (friend)who lived not far from us had a little girl with Spina Bifida.....

She and her husband split up just after the baby (Caroline) was born.....

Sadly Caroline's Mother had her own health problems, some sort of genetic problem which needed lots of hospital visits and stays.....

Well, my Mrs stepped in and and became a second Mother to little gorgeous Caroline.....Caroline spent most of her time at ours, my own two Daughters had not reached school age when she first arrived....

We put the swing, slide. etc in our Front garden as everybody wanted to see and speak to Caroline as they walked past......Caroline came on holidays with us to Butlins every year.,,She adored being with my two girls and my son.....
    Here Rex!!!...Here Rex!!!.....Wuff!!!....... Wuff!!!

        Of course....

I am very proud to have had such a lovely woman as the Mother of my Children.....

Sadly she died of Cancer aged just fifty five.....The whole Village turned out for her Funeral....also many Brownies and officials from that Organisation turned up to honour her years of devotion to their members....They came from all over the County....

        RIP....Bridget Anne Dowling (Anne)......

My eldest Daughter was talking about it the other day.....She was saying how she always had a ''bigger'' family than our own family of two adults and three children....

We also had an Autistic Boy who we looked after as his Mother was single and went to work....
It must have rubbed off on my son as he lives with a girl who has a fourteen year-old Autistic Boy......They have lived together now for eight years and also have a five year-old Daughter......
The boy is now at Boarding school during the schools periods.....My son picks him up at half four every Friday.....LOL..picks him up may not be the right words as when my Son gets there the boy comes out to the car....Very occasionally the boy gets in the car within a few minutes....but up to three hours is the norm and even five hours on rare occasions.....
my son just has to sit there and wait until the boy makes his own mind up.....

Bridget Anne's Mother......Who lived three doors away from us....

Well, after working as a Cook for the Rotchchild family in Cambridge for years......She decided she needed an outside job.....
So she became the Village ''Post lady''....Yes, she cycled around the Village and outlying areas to deliver the letters and parcels....

One morning she was hit by a car on the main road just short of her furthest delivery point....Luckily a Doctor lived within hearing distance of the accident and was at the scene within a minute (he was just about to leave for work at a hospital in Cambridge)...

He saved her life.....She was then in hospital for ten months, most of that time in intensive care......
