    Anyone reading antin good at the mo ?.

    I've got a few on the go about the Dub Drugs Gangs past. But I managed to get a used hardback copy from Amazon of " Dear Dirty Dublin" A city in distress, 1899-1916 by Joseph V O'Brien. Very good read.

      the scramble for Africa......have read it many years ago......

      Just reading about how the French were determined to keep the slave trade going in East Africa........

      But, the Prussian war put paid to that.........and made Rats legs a delicacy in Paris...

          Im not reading anything right now which is amazing cos normally i can read a book a day.....im fed up with the shyte im seeing on amazon and the cost......and all the books im reading in the past couple of years are on a kindle...whats pissing me off is the kindle books are now more expensive than the hardcovered new books.....so what im doing right now..is writing my own book hehee

          now dont suggest i go to the library....im terrified of germs.

                      just finished reading 'blitz kids' , its about the german blitz on britan during ww2, its a series of stories about the kids and teenagers living during the bombings and evacuations to the countryside for safety.also it deals with the youngsters who were in the armed forces ,like ww1 most were underage [specially the royal navy] its one of those books you can`t put down, strangely, I offered it to a bloke I shoot with this morning and he declined, he said he was nine years old when that happened and he got a little quiet talking to me about the time, he was form London.....great read of a dreadful time. 605 pages, not bad for 50p pick up.
