I've picked up some verra interesting slang off this & the other forum....somehow I'd never be able to say 'absolute bollox' here w/o having to be totally drunk or something. I can't fit that one in yet.

One has to listen carefully to tell the Canadian & U.S. accents apart, and half the time I can't.
          I believe in.......

Here's how to practice. Next time a politician tells you something just reply, "Sir (or madam), with the greatest respect, that's a load of absolute bollox!"

And no one will be able to argue the point with you, because no matter who or where the politician is you'll be perfectly correct.

Former Pres Bush would not have been able to understand.

Okay, to be a bit honest, until I looked it up this week, I did not know what the word meant. Had not heard it. This sounds dum probably, but I read the word & was reminded of this chain of department stores in S. Calif. named "Bullocks"....okay, yer thinking....like, whatever, girl.

When we came to the USA, we were shocked when the newspaper came they had a show home on the center pages, The heading was, THIS IS THE BOLLICKS KITCHEN, it was the surname of the owners of the house, came to find out it is a fairly common name here. You could scream out the word here and no one would know what you were saying

If some unfortunate had Bollicks as their surname here they'd have to move out.

how about if your name was Dick, & your name was Pat,

or if you were a young lad of a past age, and your name was

Master Bates. We could start a new thread on weird names.Dr Death.

Bollix would have plenty of mates.
