My uncle owned the snooker hall on sundrive road and the castle as well , he owned the bread shop Dempseys also. We lived over the bread shop that was next door to the snooker hall for over 28 years and i grew up with Matty Rogers being in our house every day. I was not allowed to go into the snooker hall as my father always said it was a sign of a miss spent youth .I have great memories of Sundrive Road. There was two Matty Rogers , father and son , the father was the one that was in our house.

Remember that well, my sister went there for piano lessons, it would have been the late 60s, early 70s

I remember the snooker hall well, but wasn't the pub called the Stoneboat? I also remember the Sundrive cinema which later became the Apollo cinema. My gandfather used to sell papers on the corner of Sundrive Rd and Kimmage Rd.
