    That is quite a story Katie, thanks for the info. I was interested to read about St Vitus cathedral. I remember as a child my mother telling me about a sickness called St Vitus Dance, where the person cannot remain still. I wonder did the saint have it.

      yes, i remember whenever i was a bit fidgety my mum used to say "Have you got St Vitus Dance?"

        I don't think he had the disease, which us now called Sydenham's chorea, though he is mentioned in connection to it in this wiki article:

            Humpty Dumpty

            Nobody knows the true origin of Humpty Dumpty, but although he's always depicted as an egg, there's nothing in the rhyme to suggest he actually was one. He only became eggified in Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass."
            This article is about the many theories on the origins of Humpty Dumpty, including one that says Humpty was a Royalist cannon in the English Civil War.

              Interesting, I remember hearing as a child that Humpty Dumpty represented the fall of King Charles the first.
