  • Great picture Cosmo, thanks for posting. I am looking at a tower like structure in the distance at the extreme left hand side of the picture. Anybody know what or where it is. I recognise everywhere else

        Just to place it
        If you look at the photo ...pick out the Four Courts and then look to the left and your on Arran Quay

                      • No wonder I couldn't remember it cosmo......But it got me thinking of when I was a kid maybe 6 / 7 and my mother would send me to the butchers every Saturday morning for steak or mince ....was fascinated looking at the butcher taking a piece of meat and putting it in the mincer that was there on the counter....the butchers was on the Rathmines road between the Stella and Slatterys pub......

                          yes i remember that as well dinny, also the hand powered slicer for the ham and bacon..it was so silent ..of course..
