Just finished reading Rebels The Irish Rising of 1916.
A well told story by Peter De Rosa.

Great book, one of my favourites about the Rising. Approved by some of the families of the leaders, and the last chapter a hard one to read.

I saw a critique of it in a newspaper that said the last chapter was like, "Looking at blood seeping from under a door... then opening the door!"

Even the British MP Enoch Powell said it should be compulsory reading for all British politicians.

      Highly recommended reading.

Read it many years ago and from what I can remember, it was an excellent account.

On the broader picture I believe we've reached saturation point on published works relating to The Rising - many of these recently printed books will be in the bargain section by Christmas.
