On the bank of the Tolka River, as kids we called that area the 40 hills . Right behind the Royal Oak pub , on the Old Fihglas Road , take you up towards Tolka .

The truth of the matter is that a small hardware shop cant survive anymore in 1000 sq ft premises or less . They would need a turnover of about 5k per week to pay their way and I cant see that being viable with the likes of B and Q , Woodies etc nearby .

For small hardware shops i think it's probably the likes of shops like DEALZ that put them out of business....one of the branches opened up maybe 2 years ago around the corner from that particular hardware shop.....selling the likes of...Electric plugs, Hammers, Saw's , Sets of Screwdrivers , Paint Brushes , etc etc ...the bread and butter stuff for small hardware shops and DEALZ are selling them all for 1.49 euro each ....the small shop can't compete with that

Yes Bo X-it closed last year or so. I saw that DEALZ in the village were being renovated, became aware of it as there was a notice in the library about it.

Xtra vision in the village is gone too, saw a 'to let' sign on it last week.

So that little hardware shop is going too? Been there on a few occasions, but they did not always have what i needed.
                          UP THE DUBS!!!

Most of the stuff they sell Pammy is cheap crap......the one in Finglas has purchased the shop next door and is extending there shop....seems to do great business

Don't buy batteries in Dealz. They seem to last about a week in a remote control, whereas the batteries bought in your corner shop last forever it seems.
