        I remember An Tóstal when I was a boy but can't remember it having achieved anything.

        The saga of the water pipes is still ongoing

          Strangely enough I don't....I thought it was gone by the time I'd have noticed or bothered. Water pipes ? what water pipes......

            I passed it earlier, the posters are because of the strike, but you can just see our lovely sculpture in the grounds of the school.

            This is a modern pic (an hour old) so I'll delete it later.

              I was just picking up on your comment above and the ongoing project to replace around 19 kilometres of Dublin’s centuries-old water pipes/ infrastructure which began 2013..
              I google because I'm not young enough to know everything.

                jaze that's disgraceful....it should be where you said... someone should start a facebook petition page and donations managed by an account with a bank until the dosh is enough to have it mover... That statue cost £200.000 it's wasted there.

                  You know with the lack of any investment by the Corpo over the years, it's a bit late for them to have to wait until the bosses in Brussels tells them to sort out the wooden pipework from the 'Back O the Pipes' days.

                        A brill find indeed JG....and I remember Matterson's were way up there in the sausage flavour stakes when I was a kid... Donnelly's and Morgerley's yes.... but Matterson's were my faves.
