Why does my National Lottery account think that I am outside the UK and Isle of Man. Every time I try to log on I get the following notification,

    Important location notification

It looks like you're outside the UK and Isle of Man
So unfortunately you will not be able to access your account at the moment.

To play UK National Lottery games online, you must be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times. You must also be physically located in the UK or Isle of Man when buying a ticket or when setting up or amending a Direct Debit account.

    What can I do?

I am also getting warnings of unusual activity on my Broadband coming from the UK and Czech Republic. My broadband provider is looking into this and I have changed the password. Anybody else ever get anything like this??

This fella online says........... If I use the iPad on mobile data the National Lottery website thinks I'm abroad and throws up a warning saying it's illegal to play from outside the UK. Mind you all you have to do is click the right button and it lets you in anyway! They do trust you not to be telling porkies when you click the "I really am in the UK, honest guv" button.

    Any use JBo ?
    We'll sail be the tide....aarghhhh !!

          Hi boxman.

Thanks for responding. Yes, I am located in the South West of the UK and not Prague although some sites are saying that I'm outside the UK.

          Several things are going on:-

I have just discovered that my version of Google Chrome is from the Czech republic and this is what's showing me outside the UK. I have tried to change this but still getting the Czech version.

The second one is, I use Avast Premier (security) and when I turn on my PC the little icon on the bottom right side of the screen tells me that my secure line in not connected. When I do connect to this the lottery site tells me that I am outside the UK. The reason it gives for this is that I am using a VPN site. Having checked this I find that my Avast Secure line is a VPN. All sounds a bit confusing.

It also appears that somebody was spying into my internet activity.

          Any ideas please.

Nothing strange, your Avast security is routing your Internet traffic via a server in Prague. My trace shows your IP as an Avast server there. Effectively you are on a VPN with the server located offshore. Avast have servers everywhere you should contact them an get your account to use a UK based server.
