Is the Israeli settlement of the West-Bank a crime of war?....I think it most definitely is...

Yes I don’t think you’ll have any arguments here on that.

Well it has been going on a long long while and very little is said about it....The world keeps going on about ''War Crimes'' and they know that Israel will just claim the right to exist and defend itself and its people....Who can blame them for that and expect Israel to take any notice....''Crimes of War'' is different IMO. occupation of the west Bank is one thing, but settling in the area occupied is completely a different matter...So by using that phrase it has more of a punch....

To the victor the spoils. The winners never get to be brought to justice. Otherwise Bomber Harris would have been executed.

Yes, so would Truman and Churchill and every allied serviceman and maybe the war would have lasted long enough to see another twenty million dead..
Thirty thousand French Civilians were killed during the Normandy invasion...Their President in exile agreed with the invasion, he did not say Non.

They were all on the winning side.

Exactly,,So every country that deals with Israel (including Ireland) is helping Israel to stay on the winning side...They then can have a say in what is going on in the West-Bank etc...

One country that invades another , for whatever reason , the decision is made by that government of the day . So where do the people of the day stand , do they just go along with that decision without any concern [ there may be a minority ] , are the majority oblivious to that action taken by THEIR government .

Another example...From an old Slovakian man telling his story....

When the Germans rounded up the Jews in Slovakian towns the locals immediately occupied the houses etc that were left behind, stole all the belongs and those that were late robbed the suitcases and even the clothes off the jews as they were marched along..
His excuse was, they were poor and needed them...

Whatever their conditions , I don't think the people generally care .

If they don't personally benefit, why on earth should they care....If I had to earn a living I would not even be on here discussing it...

During the American civil War the cotton workers of Lancashire were starved of cotton supplies...There was severe hardship, and even starvations in the area..It was so bad that the British prime Minister talked about siding with the South...But there was no chance he would get that that through parliament with the Royal Navy doing a marvellous job preventing slave ships from getting to their destination....Back in Lancashire the so called British empire was not feeding the poor....

Look at the settlers of today....Stay long enough and be strong enough and the world will eventually forget that you are. or a descendant of a settler.

Are todays immigrants to Australia, Canada, or the US etc actually ''settlers''...

Is Israel doing today on the West Bank exactly what the Europeans did in the past and are doing so to this very day?...

If I buy land in Australia am I buying it off the rightful owner?

It’s ok being a settler as long as you assimilate , not like the shower in the north who still look to Scotland as their kinfolk and not the natives.

I think that has more to do with the severe Protestant sects, there are a few staunchly Unionist areas that were mainly settled by Welch people of the same beliefs...
The lowlands of Scotland and Northern England embraced and grew Calvanism...Having no Bishops etc allowed their Priests to set up their own strict laws and I believe they tried to outdo each other with their fiery, ranting and raving sermons..

Scotland itself has disowned those settlers leaving it to London to carry all the burden...I have never met an Englishman that would be even remotely concerned if Northern Ireland as a separate entity from the rest of Ireland, disappeared..
