Opposition parties are always critical of those in power, but then they get in themselves and find excuses for not doing anything

I remember Garret Fitzgerald trying to bring in a bill and Haughey opposed it all dough he tried to bring in the same bill when he was in office. When a reporter brought it to his attention the answer he gave was that he was now in opposition so it was his job to oppose

A wise older gentleman once told me after Albert Reynolds went to Europe late 1980s early 1990s and later apologised to the people of Ireland for not getting that amount he asked forthat the population was over 8millon in the 1800s and could hold at least 12million and that Europe will try to increase our numbers, looks like he was right

Would you believe that we are the only country in the world that has a smaller population than the1800s. Considering all the casualties other nations suffered during the wars , we should have at least 10 million. Reason we don’t is because our country has been haemorrhaging people since then. 50 years ago we had a little more than 3 million.

Yes , and hopefully no emigration. That’s what destroys a country. Croatia has lost a million citizens in the last 15 years.
