That figure is roughly in line with what the Irish Government spends on health each year I believe..

Ghost exports from Ireland inflates the Irish GDP so one result of that is Ireland pays a bigger share than it should into the EU coffers....
There are other downsides as well.....

Well , that’s what the rich countries like Ireland are there for. Help the poorer EU countries to better their infrastructure. That’s how we became successful. Long live the EU

LOL it will take years to pay back the EU the funds that you received over the years.....Yes the UK did pay more into the EU than it received, every year it was a member....

Yes long live the EU and I can't wait for it to have its own Army strong enough to defend itself, though that could take twenty years if all members agree LOL....I can't wait for the EU Capitals to ring with the words..''Yanks Go Home''....But not till you sort out Putin and keep us safe from the Nasty Ruskies...
I have noticed that Macron has made a defence deal with the UK....Now why would one think he did that ???????lol....

Rich or not rich?.........I live in South Cambridgeshire which includes Cambridge City.......Average wages 59 grand......North Cambridge (farmland mostly) considerably less and houses are very much cheaper.......
East Anglia where I live gets less that a quarter of what Scotland gets off Central Government......How's that for helping other Countries in the UK....

Since the tax was normalized at 15% a few years ago we don't have that advantage any more.
Companies stay & come here because of ease of access to EU market & highly motivated, reliable & educated work force.
We are still seeing inward investment in spite of tax normalisation.

If it helps you to sleep at night, then go for it.....

Maybe the increase in alcohol consumption in Leinster House helps them get a good nights sleep......

I wouldn't think it makes any difference to my sleeping patterns as it's not something that weighs on my mind as seems to on yours starting a separate thread about it.

I doubt any of the large companies in the US pay a blind bit of notice to what the fornicated liar in the Whitehouse has to say.
                            Their only god is profit.

That 15% in Ireland is a lot higher than the Corporate Tax in the Isle of Man and Guernsey which is Zero for most companies
