Bessborough House ....

[Twobob]

Planning granted for 106 apartments at site of former mother and baby home in Cork – The Irish Times .

Horrific that this should be allowed to precede ..... talk about burying the past .

Couldn't begin to imagine how surviving mothers / family would feel regards the remains of their children being covered over in such a manner ..... just displays a total void of any humanity .

Yes it does Twobob and it should be stopped by the government, they are not so busy that they cannot step in and do something.

I'd hazard a guess if they were to be questioned regards their view on it a direct answer would be in short supply .

Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show 923 babies died in Bessborough from 1922 to 1998.

they need to do a full scan of that entire area
