(Kellier) I see the main man drinking that powerful Celebration beer, i think they took it off the market as you didnt have to drink too much of it to get locked. It wasnt making them enough money

I done a job on a mans car who worked in Guinness’s years ago, he paid me and told me he would drop me in a drink for Christmas. It was September and I forgot about it. 3 weeks before Christmas he knocked on my door and gave me 2 dozen large bottles of draught celebration and told me not to open them until Christmas. For years after that my friends were still talking about it saying it was the nicest drink they ever had

Remember the cable line that would send the money up to the cash office in a little container?

interesting blog, it seems a sudden crowded ale market killed it.

Following on from my last post about Tower Stout it seems appropriate to continue with another lost Beamish & Crawford beer, this time an ale launched to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Touted as a 'strong ale'1, Celebration arrived smack bang into the hard fought beer drinking world at a time of severe upheaval in the Irish ale scene, and in that short period in the 1960s and early 1970s when their sales were in the ascendancy.
