When I moved into my house in a village outside Cambridge,,,,I was waiting for my phone to be connected....My sister in London has no means to contact me so she rang up the Police in Cambridge,,They sent a copper out immediately, he drove 5 miles to give me the message....I lived across the road from the village copper at the time, but he was away on holiday...

Nice to know there are still good coppers about....

Our local one used to come in the Pub after he had finished his shift at midnight,,,,,,Closing time was 11 0 clock then....

All those little Police stations (a little office on the side of the coppers house) are well gone now....They are building a new Police Station outside Cambridge at the moment.....We wont see any coppers at all now....
