  • Dublin Forum Announcement

Hi everyone. I just want to give notice that I won’t be renewing the hosting service of the forum when it expires on 19th of September. I have carried the cost of this since 2019, at about 300 euro per year plus other costs maintaining and upgrading.
Another issue has arisen recently with the resource limit being breached on a regular basis preventing members access, by what are known as bot crawls from large servers around the world harvesting information from web site such as ours. This will require some work on the back control of the site in order to fix this.
Before the expiry , if anyone or a consortium of current members wants to continue with forum , contact me either through here or email domocon56@hotmail.com.

very sorry to see the forum go , thank you for all the years, I will miss the chats very much, pre covid I would have loved to keep it going but my health is not good enough to even try but would be willing to contribute, many years ago I started a forum chat group to keep in touch with people, just had a look and it is still there on facebook

I don't have the skills necessary for the task & I'll be devastated to see it go
The only thing that occurs to me is the financial burden could be taken care of is if each member were to pay, say, €5 a month.
Or maybe it's just the sheer burden of keeping it going BO.

Yeh good idea OB , if we could get 4 or 5 members to make that commitment. We’ll put it out there and see what happens. Got another week or two to cancel or renew it.

Just doing a follow up regarding the upcoming renewal of the forum. A few members, namely Bigby , OB , And John Doran have offered to contribute 5 euro per month to keep it going.
We are still a bit short, another couple of contributors would cover the costs going forward.
If anyone else is interested,I can pass on my mobile for Revolut through a PM

I don't have any digital way of transferring money as I have stuck with cash but could do direct debit.
