            I was involved in the fight against the mercs. Over 200 enemy destroyed. I met the French guy in Dublin later. Interesting meeting. I hear a version of the meeting was shown in the movie. I have never seen the movie but from what I hear a lot was accurate. For instance the water was unusable due to the drum having been used to hold oil.

                Thank you on. But we were scared. We were badly treated at home afterwards. The usual name was Jadotville Jacks for years until after the movie was made.

                  I can remember being horrified at the time.

                    No this was French and Belgium mercs. They were experienced soldiers from WW2. We were totally inexperienced. Only for the boss Pat Quinlan we'd have been slaughtered

                      I remember Joe Fitzpatrick he survived the Niemba ambush ....when I was a teenager he used to play snooker in the snooker hall off Sth Richmond St where myself and my mates hung out , he was a big man who seemed to keep to himself a lot...he never got over what happen and he seemed to suffer badly
