Can't be done in PMs. You can send You Tube videos in PMs but not photos.Originally posted by john doran View PostNo Boxman
I was sending a private message and wanted to attach a photo from my computer ...but .I cannot see an attachment button
Only buttons that require url addresses......any ideas..?
Thanks
What I do and suggest.
1. Open an account (free) on Photobucket. http://s6.photobucket.com/
2. Upload your photo(s) to their site.
3. After upload you will get four codes below or beside each photo.
4. Copy the bottom code. (You will see IMG to the left).
5. Paste that code into your PM.
6. Preview your post to ensure you used the correct code.
7. Send PM. Job done.
That sounds complicated, but in truth it's very simple, give it a try. Your code will look something like this: [URL=http://s6.photobucket.com/user/..... I have truncated that so that I don't embed a photo here.
Hope that helps.'Never look down on a person unless you're helping them up'.

I had the same issue trying to embed YouTube videos before, and it usually came down to strange formatting problems, like accidentally adding a space or missing brackets. I also noticed that sometimes if I copy-paste the entire embed code with extra spaces, the forum won’t read it right. Now I just double-check for any hidden spaces at the start or end, and that usually does the trick. The warning about “plugin not supported” confused me before too, but just trimming the space like Rashers said can make all the difference.
When I’m dealing with other media stuff or editing, I stick to software that makes import and sharing easy, even if it’s video clips off YouTube. There are tools like movavi that help a lot with this, especially if you want to quickly cut or edit clips before posting.

Bloggo , the embedding of video features have changed on this site since it was upgraded a few years ago, so the instructions given here before are no longer compatible.Originally posted by bloggo3 View PostI had the same issue trying to embed YouTube videos before, and it usually came down to strange formatting problems, like accidentally adding a space or missing brackets. It’s much easier now, although YouTube have blocked a lot of their content from being shared.
I will post a few instructions when I get a chance, or if someone else wants to do it in the meantime they are welcome.
