  • Janelle Shopping Centre

Never knew this ever existed till I came across this today.
It doesn't look too bad in the article, why was it demolished so soon?

The Janelle Shopping and Leisure Complex in Finglas is opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Bertie Ahern.

Competition from bigger shopping centres like Blanch. Tesco knocked it and built the
massive Finglas Clearwater in the carpark and the old centre became the new carpark with some out of town retail outlets. Its a goldmine now.

Yes, seems "Clearwater" is the English for "Finglas".

Last time I entertained a bow was in front of the parish priest and swearing all my future pay slips to a certain young lady ................ oh , and in front of a judge confirming my name and address .

Well I was 24 in 1987, and you're older than me, so maybe early 30s, is that better?

The location was dreadful, hard to understand the logic of building it on one side of a dual carriageway. It was awkward to get in and out of.
