Many thanks for the enlargement Cosmo. As you say John might have a idea of the time frame.

Very interesting Cosmo. It was difficult in the old letter to distinguish an s from an r, but I understand it was the same in old English. I have the Dineen here and it uses the same letters. I learned Irish in script, but a slightly later version.,

The name for Dolphins Barn was Cearnan Chloc - the heap of stones

                                Great photos Bojangles
I love the Astons Quay one
                                Bo,
The one captioned burst pipe Summerhill is wrong ...for some reason it comes up as that location a lot

Its at the corner of Gardiner Street upper and Dorset Street Lower
Father Browne was attached to Gardiner street church at the time only a few yards away from the photo

You can see the Red Star Tea shop in the background and a Barbers pole at its doorway
There was a hairdressers above the shop
I,ve included a street directory showing Dorset street fron NCR to Eccles place
There was a bike shop in 91 on this directory

It also shows Dorset Avenue at 96
This is in the huge overengineered arch almost 3 storeys high in the photo back left
