The red building at the back there was part of the original Watkins brewery, that's now derelict, though protected....and there's good reason to believe that there's was a “Watkins, Jameson, Pim & Co. (1976) Limited” set up on Wed the 28th of Apr 1976 and is still in existence at 10 Ardee Street.

It was built 1799 and housed among other departments....The Chamber of Commerce....Stock Exchange and merchants’ offices.
It was built on what was Founds Court, and it had a passageway from the front on Dame St right through the courtyard out to what you can see in your pic as Cope Street
It also became the meeting place for the Ouzel Galley Society 1805.....which dealt with ship insurance and arbitration.
Unfortunately like so much of the same it was demolished to make way for Stephenson’s Central Bank.....now out of date piece of shiyte monstrosity.
The stonework was supposed to have been numbered with a view to reconstruction to fit in after the bank bldg was built....but guess what ???? yeah....they built a replica when nobody was looking......who knows where the lovely granite ended up.
Note that Ouzel Gally Society plaque over the arch in my (No2) pic.....was re sited at the front of the new building.
My pic to Dame St...... yours to Cope St.
The pic of the bar is of the Ouzel Galley Bar in the basement of the building....hardly any knew it was there.
Now ye know it don't cha ????We'll sail be the tide....aarghhhh !!
