  • donno big4......i wonder is it worth it now being honest..its very disheartening looking at what was a fantastic forum and way of keeping the old ways of dublin alive falling flat on its bum........our generation lived in a very unique time for ireland.....and our memories and photos there was a method of keeping those times alive for our next generation.....

i hope you'll stay around here lol....

If all we are left with is good morning or next letter (not that they are insignificant threads. I've contributed as much as most to those) then it's time to give it away. What really shits me is this...every day you lot go off for a Kip and the Canadians, the Americans and the Aussies keep the banter going. Then every day without fail our good mate Fitzy starts posting and it's like watching Dublin itself come awake and the daily cycle starts again. However, just because a bunch of public servants can't be bothered doing their jobs that all comes to a screaming halt. We have friends in limbo, we have friends doing who knows what on FB and we have friends here. The diaspora is on again...why do we put up with this shit?
Maybe it's just run it course Boxie.......and now it's time to let Dublinforum.net take over. I know I like this site better. Over there posters were on tender hooks most of the time.....there was a bad atmosphere. I am going to continue to post on this site and support it's growth. KM is right we just all need to make the move and it will be just as good here with the plus of having good moderation.

Sorry Lombard but that is not why .net was established. It was supposed to guarantee the continued existence of .ie and our beloved old photo collection. why should the tax payers and rate layers of Dublin be short changed like this and treated like shite by people who are payed to work for them?

I am on tender hooks here too Lombard as I am never sure if a poster is who they say they are unless I know them from before the troubles or have met up with them but I am sure if anything starts it is stopped quickly here

                  • ya shouldnt worry jeanie...here is different to dublin.ie..and what happens there stays there..whole new ball game here...some use their original names some doent...but as long as they do not personally abuse or attack other posters, everything and everyone is fine......so old transgressions on dublin.ie shouldnt apply.................you and i both kept our original names and so did most.....but your right a few are different..

If you'd like to change your present username here for the one you used on dub.ie I can do that for you as I have for others -- as long as the name hasn't already been taken.

In fact I don't see why dub .ie members who are also members here have changed their username on this board... so my invitation to you extends to them too.

Oh!...I didn't know why .net was established. I've been a member of .ie since '09 but did not know about this forum until WM introduced me to it last year. I spoke with Rashers on a thread somewhere here about the possibility of getting the Photo's if .ie closed it's doors. I agree they are a priceless collection. The mods over there threaten closure so often... most posters are now expecting it to happen. I just noticed on the official portal website the forum section has been removed.
I agree that the moderators are lazy and don't do their job........even today they could update the message.....it would only take two seconds. All that said .ie has lost it's appeal for me ....at the moment.

I take most people at face value Samb but have already seen a scenario played out here and hope it does not happen again as it spoils the enjoyment
