I am working on an idea, Lidl today had a forestry helmet for sale, and we have an old soldering helmet out the back garden and I have some rolls of hardish plastic, lots of old jeans here, waist band for around the head and stitch the plastic in place

remember there was once umbrellas that sat on your head and plastic type scarves that saved the new hair do from the rain

school students made them with a 3D printer for 1 euro,

    • Well I love walking and I need to walk because I am eating so much these days. I rarely meet people on my walks and when I do we circle each other very widely. So unlikely to get it in my eyes nose or mouth. To please my daughter I wore the mask but I find it harder to breathe, In Dublin fifty percent of deaths are nursing homes another twenty percent care workers so not much else out there.

In fact if I lived in the Arshole of the country I wouldn't bother. I would think your quite safe Vico not many cases in your neck of the wood, I wear the mask queueing for shopping, But I slip it in my pocket on my walks

        • Oh we could do with rain Vico but none so far here, My new shrubs are parched and my older plants are wilting, I water them but nothing like a good dose of rain.

You Know Vico most deaths from the Corona Virus are on the northside of Dublin so Bigby Dinny and I are in the danger zone, I think your safe so enjoy your walks

The rain was very light Joan, and didn't last unfortunately. I know that the concentration of the virus is in the north of Dublin, but it is here too. The first death in this country was in Naas Hospital. Naas is that all that far away from where I live

            • Only very few outside of Dublin accept Cork Vico, They are also saying the two places beside North of Ireland have also a lot of infections. I know Armagh is one I forget what the other one is,

That is why its so silly to have people from North of the border come here to visit when we are not allowed the same freedom. Looking at the tonight show where Claire Byrne looked and got a test to see had she acquired antibodies from her recent bout of Corona Virus but the test failed to show whether she had or not.

We are blessed with the weather and it does cheer you to go for a walk and feel the sun on your back I suppose we will look back on these days as being special and we should try to enjoy them as much as we can

Just as long as we live long enough to be able to look back. I watched Claire Byrne too Joan, so much for the anti bodies. I thought it was very sad about the old lady who befriended the young girl in hospital That poor old woman only went to hospital because she fell and broke some ribs, then she caught the virus in the hospital. It is not surprising that people are afraid to attend A&E

                • Yes that was sad and it is hospitals and nursing homes that have the most cases. people sent to hospital to protect them from the Virus got the Virus in the hospital There is talk about putting something on an App to your phone which will ping if your near someone who is infected.

I think that would take a clever person to cope with it as it can often read wrong if someone has recovered from the virus it can activate and also it needs to be on all the time.

But it is been tried in other countries. Refugees are now the latest victim, in fact anywhere there is a gathering of people. Another lovely day, time for my walk. Hard to know whether to wear a mask or not, I washed all my masks in the washing machine and they came out perfect Stay safe Vico

                  • It came at last the rain. I thought it would be down for the day but no, it only rained for a short while. I was going for my walk but listening to the lunchtime news, they predicted thunder and lots of rain. So I grabbed the clothes off the line. Now hours later sun is still shining Might venture out before I am tempted to stick my head in the fridge again

The rain and the wind have stopped here now. The garden needed the rain. I found some packets of seeds when I was sorting out drawers yesterday. The plan was to plant them this morning, but the weather prevented it. So I will head out to the garden later if the weather holds

                      • A friend rang me this morning bemoaning the fact that she gets shellac on her nails. It is grown down and is cracking and she has no idea how to take it off. If anybody knows, could you let me know so that I can tell her

                        • Tin foil Vico and acetone you will find it in all pharmacies. Get cotton balls and dip in acetone and and place on nail with tin foil covering it for about fifteen minutes the shellac should lift. I do remember my daughter using this as two of the nails had stripped and she wanted to get rid of the rest

                            • Welcome Vico I wish it was as easy to have hair tips, I have coloured my hair but I want to have it done properly. Also could do with new clothes. My Birthday this Sunday I will miss out on our usual big day out with my kids and my siblings.

there are five birthdays in my family this week Two brothers and two sisters, so we always go out to Celebrate and we think My Late Father must have really enjoyed his August holidays.

My son has been getting so many orders but no steel places open so he has to wait. He meanwhile is driving me mad painting planting and re-organising my kitchen, I can find nothing

My Brother who is a Voluntary carer in the Morning Star hostel for men made me laugh, He is not there now until the lockdown is over. Once he left the day of the lockdown he must stay out. He said there are lots of alcoholic men there who have not got out for a drink in the last six weeks because if they leave they can't come back.

I wonder will they stay sober or will they run to the pub as soon as they can

That is an interesting thought Joan, maybe this lockdown is just what they needed to leave the bottle behind. It would be nice if something good like that were to come out of it
