In WW2 there are very few cases where the Germans won when their enemies were ready and waiting......

Before Germany attacked Russia in 1941, the Russian force were told not to show any readiness whatsover as that may make the Germans think Russia was getting ready to attack them....
In the early stages of the German Attack when Stalin was getting reports of the German attack, He even said do not react as there must be a mistake....When Stalin at last realised what was happening he withdrew into his own quarters and was not allowed to be disturbed for two days....He was in complete shock...
Russians at the front could not get any sensible orders as their Generals were afraid to make decisions without the OK from Stalin....

I believe that ''Ken Barlow'' ..Actor William Roache served time there and his hearing was damaged by an explosion....He was an Officer and reached the Rank Of Captain...He was in the Army 1953-1956...

The British Army light machine gun was an upgrade version of a gun made in Brno in Czechoslovakia,,,,It was made in the BSA factory in Enfield....

The name Bren comes from the first two letters Brno and Enfield,,,,BR and EN,,,,BSA also had a factory in Birmingham,,,So all British small arms had an E or a B after their number.. BSA (British Small Arms) also made well known motorbikes....

When the German Army surrendered in 1945 the Allies occupied their respective sectors.....The Pow camps they built were not called POW camps, they were called DEP (Disarmed enemy persons if I remember).....They were called that so the League of Nations rules for POW's did not apply regarding feeding the prisoners....16,000,500 Disarmed enemy persons died in the French Sector...of starvation.....

How about this then.....There was between one and two million German POW's held by the occupation forces in Germany after the Germans surrendered.... Estimates are that one quarter of them died....Now who was in charge of the occupation forces at that time....Eisenhower of course....
