What kind of a flag is it, a tricolor or a harp flag?

I would imagine it was a gold harp on a blue background, but this is pure conjecture. I used to have one but it went "missing" when I left home !

Its a tricolour and it didn't sell...apparently some historians have raised doubts re it's provenance...this is the second attempt to sell it, the reserve today was €700K

Who is selling it? Surely the government can buy it for ther state or have they spent all the money on freebies? maybe Bertie can buy it and give it to the nation
