So Mubarak has sent in his thugs to break up the peaceful demonstrations in Egypt and cause mayhem

Is he not the very 82 year old man it is claimed was behind the assasination of Anwar Sadat. The soldiers appeared to be with the demonstrators and I am hoping they will stay that way

And still no condemnation from the West just the usual wringing of hands

The West, in particular the US needs to stay out of this conflict. It's an internal Egyptian conflict and has nothing to do with the US or other western powers.

i agree.....theres upheaval and a huge change happening in that part of the world...and it has nothing to do with the west....the west should mind their own business..particularly the us...who do not have a good and great track record for sticking their nose in...

i hope things will be resolved quickly..

The big worry for the world is who will end up in control of the Suez Canal.

If the Iran-backed fundamentalists take over in Cairo, then the Suez could become a powder-keg again.

And despite what people think about Mubarak, that's one of the things he's trying to avoid. He said the other day that he would step down but fears the ' The Society of the Muslim Brothers' (aka The Brotherhood) could take over. This is a banned organisation in Egypt.

The Muslim Brotherhood's goal, as stated by Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna to reclaim "Islam’s manifest destiny, an empire, stretching from Spain to Indonesia".

But unfortunately instead of staying out of this conflict, the Socialist pukes on Capitol Hill are preparing the ground for a Muslim Brotherhood take-over of Egypt. Former US Ambassador to Egypt, Frank Wisner, met with Issam El-Erian, a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood, talking about their participation in a post-Mubarak government.
Mubarak was a close US ally for 30 years, and Obama is preparing to throw him under the bus as he has done to other US-friendly leaders and personal supporters in the past.
Hamas and Al Qaida are violent Muslim Brotherhood off-shots. According to US government propaganda Al Qaida was involved in the 9/11 attacks. That makes them and the Brotherhood enemies of the United States. Obama negotiating with them constitutes an act of treason. Can we talk about impeachment??? Yes we can! Once again the illegal immigrant from Indonesia posing as US President is acting against American interests!

Less a concern about the future of Egypt -- more another jump on the US president birth place bandwagon.

And yet, the Muslim Brotherhood is linked to Hamas and Al Qaida, both violent organisations. All three share the same dream, the creation of a Greater Islamic Reich reaching from the middle east across Europe to Indonesia. The circle is closing in Indonesia, because that's where Barry Soetoro (nowadays hiding behind a false name calling himself "Barack Obama") was educated in an exclusively Muslim school. Surprise, surprise.......

Sorry, not interested in where a foreign president was born, nor in conspiracy theories.

What about Egypt's 7 million Copic Christians? What will their fate be after radical idol-worshippers have replaced Mubarak? I don't hear the liberal-lefty mob calling for Mubarak's resignation or even US/foreign intervention raising their voices in concern about the fate of our 7 million Christian brothers and sisters. They are getting a raw deal as it is. Things will only get worse for them should the Iranian-backed Muslim Brotherhood take over the country.

Radical idol-worshippers are going to replace Mubarack? You know something the rest of us don't?

....Iranian-backed Muslim Brotherhood take over the country.
Iran is a predominately Shia country and the Muslim Brotherhood is Sunni.... hardly Iranian backed.
