Little Mo , as she was known, was a graduate of UCG & Labour Party TD.
Apparently she was a dynamo & active in many causes.

I can remember as a child my mother talking about Maureen Carrol. There was case of herself and somebody being in a restaurant and they were served peas, think the brand was Erinmore or something like that. Anyway there was something wrong with the peas but Maureen Carroll was supposed to be in some way connected to another company who canned peas does anybody else recall that

What happened was Maureen O Carroll went to several shops and bought packets of Batchelors Marrowfat Peas. When she opened them she separated smaller inferior peas that were mixed up with the more expensive Marrofat. She then brought summons against Batchelors in the court for false advertising.
During the trial, Batchelors lawyers cross examined her about being seen dining in Russels Hotel with the owners of rival canning company Emerald Foods. The lawyers accused her of being used by that company to make the allegations about the peas. IMG_0174.jpg
