At home..i now have a flock of doves as regular callers....

Went to feed our lay-by rats yesterday,,,not a sign.....

Went into a shop the other day.....bought two large sacks of bird seed, one mixed and the other peanuts....

Assistant says..you got a lot there....I says...yes, the Missus only eats organic food now, and she loves these....

walked out of the shop convinced that the assistant believed me......Kath thought it was hilarious.....

I think when I am 67 I will get €196.00 state pension, retirement age is 65 so not sure if I get the dole for 2 years? or maybe job seekers allowance
Bigby I think anyone qualifying for a Contributory pension at 67 will fall under the new total contribution scheme... i.e. 30 years contributions. The change over is suppose to start in 2020. They said they will allow people to buy contributions to make up the 30 years if they are short. Also any unemployment/illness and homemakers credits will be taken in consideration once you have the basic 10 years paid contributions.

I took the information from here, there is a lot to read

The State Pension (Contributory), previously called the Old Age (Contributory) Pension, is payable to people aged 66 and over who have worked and paid enough social insurance contributions.

                    Heard a little while back....

The German Government were discussing the possibility that if you had no children you would not get a Pension, as you would have nobody to pay tax to pay for it.....

Yes Bigby that's the old 'yearly average system'. You will come under the new system of 30 years contribution for a full pension ...which is a much fairer system especially for women who may have had years at home with children. Now they can buy back any years they are short and they can do it while they are still in employment.
