The Dubliners will never sound the same again......Cieran....Luke....Ronnie....Barney.. rip.
When Ronnie left the Dubs, Jim McCann stepped in.....and Jim stepped out when Ron rejoined in 1979. The pic shows all with the tools of their former trades. Cieran, the Agricultural Student with a Shepherds Crook...Jim, with White Coat, a former medical student, Barney, with mallet....a navvy....John, with a bunch of wires....ESB apprentice...Luke, with a dish cloth, a dishwasher....Ron, a telephonist headset. More power to yer elbow John Sheahan !!!.

It is always sad, that some people got older and have to die. Especially when they died too "young", because of cancer and so on.

I haven`t seen them in concert.

True, and especially in the case of Luke Kelly and Kieran Burke to a lesser extent. Just John left of the originals and the end of the Dubs after Barney's death rip. Glad to say I saw them in the early 60's and later in England at a few concerts.

Anyone know what happened to Bobby Lynch who stood in when Luke left for Eng in '64 ?...Bobby left the band with Luke's return in '65....though he joined around the same time as John, John stayed on ....for 50 years ! some record eh.

Here a fairly fresh face original five and below what looks like four with Bobby Lynch.
