ok that is a big decsion so perhaps legal advice would be needed in this case

mine was only complicated because of the living will thingy....cos the dnr only applies in certain instances

Have you spoken to a lawyer. For simple wills (which most are unless you have gazillions of dollars) it's usually quite inexpensive to have one drawn up. (at least in the states)
It's probably time for me to update mine. Not that I have anything new to add but my children are older now and I have grandchildren.

Solicitors and legal people are always telling us how important it is to make a Will. But they have a vested interest.

Wills often cause more problems than they solve. One of the biggest causes of upset is one child being favoured over another in Wills. This may not matter to the person who dies ....... but life-long conflict can be caused in families by making a Will flipantly.

Under the Law ...... where there is no Will ...... the spouse is entitled to 2/3rds of the estate and the children are entitled to the other 3rd between them.

Where there is no spouse .... the children are entitled to equal shares of the estate.

The purpose of writing a Will therefore is to leave the bulk of the estate to one person ......... or to deliberately leave out a child or children ...... you cannot write your spouse out of a Will.
"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing it, and then misapplying the wrong remedies.”

I did my in-laws yrs ago with a legal kit we bought here and just followed the instructions so there were no problems when they passed away.

the law does not make a will complicated......only the person writing it does.....keep it simple..

You'd be mad not to have a will and prefrably one done correctly with a solicetor. Make sure that everything you want is in the will and especially make sure that you read it and understand it before you sign.

The time to write your will is as early as possible because you never know if yer going to die accidently and leave a legal mess for your family. Unfortunatly siblings have a tradition of claiming more than their equal share when one claims to deserve more than another for a varity of reasons.

Leave a will clearly laying out what you want done and who gets what.
It's also useful to revise it every five years or so as circumstances change and some dependants needs differ.
