This is all wrong ...no symbols of religion should be allowed in the force
The mind is everything. What you think you become.

Sickening really.....considering Garda Stations were made take down any religious pictures and crosses ....because it would offend certain people .....

I don't think they're symbols, more requirements of their faith. At any rate, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

There is a difference - having the crosses on the walls would be like making a statement that the institution itself was Christian, not individual employees.

Well if it helps diversity and limits the inbreeding in the Garda its welcome. Too many Garda are sons and daughters of Garda and led to the nod nod wink wink culture.

As in many other western countries the culture and customs of Ireland is being eroded in the name of multiculturalism. How about those people from foreign land attempting to adapt to those of their host country. It took Ireland nearly 800 years to break the chains of colonialism. More should be done to retain it's unique identity. Just a thought.

What First Nations customs have you adopted to mix in with the locals in Canada?

Surely it's possible for different cultures to co-exist in Ireland?
The idea that Irish identity could be "eroded" by people wearing certain types of religious clothing suggests that Irish culture isn't strong enough to withstand such a threat, which I'm fairly sure isn't the case.
