                        Indeed a good employer in it's day. The Green Cinema...great days....used te queue in the passageway out the back.....the uncle Jim was the ticket checker on Saturdays....more for sweets !

                          DSPCA..i remember taking our dog up there when we left to go to England.....my mam was crying, there was somebody waiting to take it....

                              Maybe not a real "good employer" as you say.
                              I remember often when the boat with the next consignment of parts did not dock on time in dublin, being told (along with the other 300 or so employees)
                              Not to come into work the next day, but to check each morning at 8am, in other words come to the front gate and if the parts had arrived, we could start work.
                              Different days I know, and no easy access to telephones either.
                              I spent 2 years there and to be honest it was a bit of a mad house.
                              Full of real old dublin characters, and a few nutters also.

                              I recall the slogan we would shout out when on strike, and it goes like this.

                              Hey hey GA, how many kids will you starve today.
                              Old age and treachery will outdo youth and skill anyday

                                I worked there after being moved from Lincoln & Nolans,,I think 1967,,,left in March 1969,,what did do you there,,,,I was on door panels and locks etc
